From 1993 to 1999 I had the good fortune of working a number of times in Alaska. These trips served a dual purpose. First, they enabled me to earn enough money to fund my wanderlust. Second, they allowed me to explore a country unlike anywhere else I have ever seen. From the greenest green of the South-East’s temperate rainforests to the endless wastes of tundra off Bristol Bay, from the wind-whipped grasses and cliffs of the Aleutian Islands to the calving glaciers of Glacier Bay I was in my element...except when the seas got rough...darn sea sickness.
